Teen Read Week Activities

Writing Contest:
Unleash your story by entering our Teen Read Week Writing Contest!  Entries should be no longer than 1,000 words and may be either short story, script, poetry, or any other format. The winner will receive a $20 Amazon gift card, and the runner-up a $10 Amazon gift card! Please include your name, grade, and phone number on your submission.

For Whom: 6th-12th graders.

Photography Contest: 
Unleash your story and enter our Teen Read Week Photography Contest by submitting an original picture featuring literature or reading! Submission ideas include a photo of your favorite book(s), your favorite place to read, your bookshelf or desk, a bookstagram creation, or anything else you can imagine that features a book that has been important to you! Finalists will be featured in the library, and the winner will receive a $20 Target gift card! Please include your name, grade, and phone number with your submission.

Reading Hours:
Celebrate Teen Read Week by joining us for an hour of reading, coffee, and donuts! Bring a book or pick out one from our collection, and come ready to read and relax!
When: October 5 and 11 from 4-5pm
For Whom: 6th-12th graders.

Teen Book Club
Join our monthly Teen Book Club during Teen Read Week to discuss Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express!
When: October 9 from 4:30-5:30pm.
For Whom: 6th-12th graders.

Book Tasting and Ice Cream Party
Celebrate Teen Read Week with a Book Tasting! Come sample some books to see what's to your taste, and create a delicious ice cream sundae!
When: October 10 from 4-5pm
For Whom: 6th-12th graders

 

Teen Book Club meets once a month to discuss our monthly YA book pick. To join, fill out an application at the Information Desk. For ages 12-18.
