Special Events for Kids

We have tons of special events planned for this summer including the ever-popular PAWS for Reading, Magician Scott Humston, a Jedi Experience, and much more! Many of these programs have limited seating and require pre-registration. Click here for downloadable flyer listing all of our special Summer Reading Events for children.

PAWS for Reading

Studies have shown that children’s reading skills improve when they read aloud to animals. The “PAWS for Reading” program gives children entering grades 1 - 5 an opportunity to read aloud to trained, certified therapy dogs who “listen” as the children read. Children will sign up for a private 15 minute reading session with a dog and the dog’s owner. This program will be held on Thursday afternoons in June and July. Online pre-registration on our Events Calendar is needed for each date that a child wishes to participate.
