Summer Reading Coming Soon!

Build a Better World 600

Get Ready to Build a Better World this summer! Summer Reading sign-up begins Tuesday, May 30th and runs through Friday, July 28th. 

Children and Teens can sign up for the Summer Reading program & receive prizes based on the number of hours you have read.

Adults can read or listen to any fiction or nonfiction book, magazine, or newspaper. When you visit the library, fill out an entry form for each item you read and turn it in at the Information Desk.

Special Events - We have lots of special events planned for this summer including the ever-popular PAWS for Reading, Magician Scott Humston, a Jedi Experience, and much more! Many of these programs have limited seating and require pre-registration. Click here for downloadable flyer listing all of our special Summer Reading Events for children.

Storytimes - Regular storytimes will take place on Wednesdays at 10:30 for ages 3 - 5 and Thursdays at 10:30 for ages 2 and under.

History and science are incorporated in this presentation meant to inspire use of the three R's: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Meet the May Artist: Carl Scott

Carl Scott May Artist of the Month05 opt300Carl Scott has always been passionate about art. He fully devoted himself to his love of art early in life. As he grew up, he continuously challenged himself by working with different mediums. Carl’s work evokes feelings of familiarity and emotional connection. The viewer is drawn into his work, constantly discovering new details and aspects with every glance.

Carl graduated from the Memphis College of Art in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts. He has completed numerous projects, including murals, paintings, and art classes. His work has been featured in many exhibits and can be found throughout the Mid-South in various galleries, churches, banks, convention centers, hotels, and businesses. Carl works with the grounds crew in the Collierville Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department.
