Meet the June Artist: Amy Markham

Amy June Artist 2017 flyer2 optThe Collierville Burch Library is pleased to welcome Amy Markham as our artist for the month of June. Amy is originally from Virginia and relocated to Collierville in 2012. She is an artist and art educator currently teaching at Schilling Farms Middle School. Her artwork focuses on symbolism and subconscious thought through painting and mixed media illustration. While going through two personal cancer diagnoses and the loss of her father to cancer in 2011, she worked on The Sketchbook Project with The Brooklyn Art Library that helped reconnect her to image making. Since then she has been developing her work in an attempt to convey her experiences and philosophy. Amy exhibited art during college in Richmond, Virginia and recently with Art Villages in Memphis and Webz Art here in Collierville. Amy received her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University.SaveSaveSaveSave
