Library Board Member Shares Her Love for the Library

IMG 1903 300optLiz Rozanski has been hanging around libraries for a long time. While growing up she made weekly visits to the library. Since moving to Collierville she and her family have continued that tradition. She even worked at the library for 2 years and now serves on the Collierville Burch Library Board. Director Deanna Britton recently asked her why she loves the library and why she spends her valuable time supporting the work of the library.

1.) Why do you love the Library?
Some of my most vivid childhood memories revolve around libraries. My parents were both avid readers, and we took weekly trips to the library. I was always encouraged to read as much as I could and to explore a variety of authors and genres. That love of reading passed from them to me and on to my children. When we moved to Collierville 15 years ago, one of our first stops was the Burch Library because we needed library cards. I was impressed with the beautiful facility, but I was even more impressed with the book collection and the programming available for my family. Libraries serve as the front porch of a community, dedicated to welcoming all citizens. The Burch Library and its staff continue to represent what is best about Collierville: our hospitality, our commitment to education, and our belief in public services accessible to all.

2.) Why do you spend your valuable time to support our work?
Supporting the library's work is easy. I believe in their mission and in the importance of a high-quality, vibrant, public information and cultural hub. Serving on the Burch Library Board is just one way to support their ongoing work to enhance life in Collierville.
