How does the National Weather Service keep track of our changing weather?

These questions about the weather and more will be answered by National Weather Service meteorologist, Jim Branda on Tuesday, May 23rd from 5-6 pm in the Halle Room.
Jim is one of ten assigned forecasters assigned to the National Weather Service Memphis forecast office. He has been in the agency for 11 years starting off first at the Glasgow, Montana office in 2005 in which he performed daily upper air balloon releases. In 2008 he moved south to Memphis where he daily provides forecast and warning support for 57 Midsouth counties.Prior to being hired by the NWS Jim produced aviation forecasts that spanned across four continents during his 21 years in the United States Air Force. He retired from active duty in the fall of 2005. Jim’s education and training has been with the USAF and Mississippi State University.
